Today the Privacy Comissioner has published a new report confirming that Profile Engine is fully compliant with all applicable privacy law and that our profile claim or deletion process is correct (and always has been). The report directs anyone with a query about their Profile Engine profile to refer to the information in the Profile Engine knowledgebase and endorses the procedures set out there as the correct ones to follow.
We have worked closely with the Privacy Commissioners office over the last few years to ensure that we follow the best possible practice in every respect of our operations. Due to a large amount of misinformation being distributed online by our competitors and other malicious individuals, some people have become confused about the correct procedures for updating or removing information on the Profile Engine. This official verdict by the Privacy Commissioner will serve to reassure people that we have always followed the correct procedures despite the ill-informed contrary claims posted on certain disreputable websites. As this report states, the correct procedures and information are set out in the Profile Engine knowledgebase and you should ignore any information found elsewhere.
